Tuareg Capital draws upon the significant regional and international experience of its management team and shareholders in the fields of private and listed equity and debt investments.
The principals of the firm have proven comprehensive experience in industry research, sourcing and identifying investment opportunities, analyzing, evaluating and executing potential investments and in engineering appropriate exit strategies.
Moreover, our principals have been involved in many complex financial transactions in EMEA and have long-standing and diverse relationships within those regions.
Adel A. Saudi
Is a principal of ASA Consultants, and founder of Tuareg Capital. He is an ex-director at United Bank for Commerce & Investment, Libya, Deputy Chairman of the Housing Bank for Trade & Finance, Algeria, and a board member of Jilavento, a significant real estate investor in Spain. Mr. Saudi was a Senior Manager at Abu Dhabi Investment Company, co-managing a team responsible for investments in private equity, listed equities, real estate and alternative investments. He headed the post-acquisition department and was a member of the Credit and Investment and Alternative Investment Committees. He was a founder of Medvest Holdings, Cyprus, a private investment house focused on emerging markets, private equity and investment banking. He has also worked at Kidder Peabody & Co, Arab Banking Corp., International Bank of Asia Limited and Manufacturers Hanover Trust Co. Mr. Saudi holds a B.S. degree in Business Administration from Pepperdine University, California.
Adel Shawwa
Is a seasoned business professional with experience in Consulting, Capital Markets & Asset Management, and Islamic Finance. Mr. Shawwa has kick-started his career as an auditor at Ernst & Young in UAE, exposing him to different industries and various business networks locally and regionally. Later on, he has managed several discretionary portfolios of listed securities’ in regional markets in addition to other emerging capital markets. He has also assisted in establishing the first Sharia-compliant MENA open-ended mutual fund in Jordan. Mr. Shawwa holds a bachelor’s degree in Financial Economics and an MBA from the UK.
Rauf Gritli
Has had an exceptional career in banking. He has comprehensive knowledge of treasury, commercial banking, Islamic finance, syndications and project finance. He spent 19 years with the Arab Banking Corporation Group (ABC), starting at the Bahrain Head Office. He was then promoted to head the Treasury Sales Desk at ABC’s London subsidiary, ABC International Bank plc. During this period Mr. Gritli developed key treasury relationships with central banks, financial institutions and corporates in the Arab World. His final nine years with the ABC group were spent as a Vice President at the Milan branch. He created and managed the international correspondent banking division covering the Arab World. Mr.Gritli has an excellent knowledge of the Italian market and is currently collaborating with a number of Italian entities as well as financial and investment institutions in the Arab World. Mr. Gritli holds a B.S. degree in Business Administration from Pepperdine University, California.
